On A Roll! Woo Hoo!

Yesterday, I quilted my blue strip twist top that’s been sitting in my sewing room for 6 months.  It’s ready for me to hand-sew down the binding at bee on Saturday.  Today after work, I quilted my original “Counting By Fives” design quilt made with a Mary Engelbreit “Attitude Girls” honey bun.

I designed and made the top in August, but it’s been waiting patiently for me to quilt it.  I have lots of patient fabrics, too!! LOL!!

So, now I have 2 quilts to bind at bee!  YAY!!  I love to bind quilts, but I admit, it was not always pleasurable to me.  I used to hate it… not sure why it changed, but I am glad it did!!

My least favorite part of making a quilt is cutting it out.  My favorite part… well, that’s a tough one.  I love selecting and auditioning fabrics, piecing the blocks, free-motion quilting, and hand-sewing the binding down.  What’s your favorite part and least favorite part of quilting?

Back to Quilting, Finally!

I made a lovely blue quilt top while teaching a class at The Artful Quilter about 6 months ago and it’s been sitting with a pile of others in my sewing room.  I pinned it yesterday evening after work and quilted it tonight.  It’s made with very busy fabric prints, so i just did a simple meander with a soft green thread.

I got the binding sewn on and will do the hand finishing at bee on Saturday.  It’s so nice to finish a top, isn’t it?  YESSSSSSS!  :-)
