Happy National Quilting Day!

What a pretty day we had today!  After a nice slow morning of two cups of coffee while watching some morning TV with the hubby, I did get to spend some time finishing up a pretty periwinkle linen blouse with Yogi in the sewing room!

The weather outside was so nice that I opened the window in my sewing room

and Yogi enjoyed sleeping next to it!!

All that fresh air and sunshine coming in the window…

he does get such wonderful sleep in the sewing room!!

I finished three new linen blouses this week and also completed my new “Four Squared”

quilt made with a jelly roll of Amy Butler’s luscious Soul Blossoms fabric.

I found a unique chartreuse green solid to go with it to create my new design.

I am pleased how it turned out and Yogi likes it, too!  (And he sure needs a haircut, huh?)

This afternoon, I started on a new project for the Moda Bake Shop… stay tuned! :-)

What did you do today to celebrate National Quilting Day??

  1. I like your four squared quilt. The green really sets off the squares.

  2. Yogi looks very happy in front of the open windaow in the sewing room.Oh and also on your lovely spring quilt.
I'm loving that new moda faric.

  3. Your quilt turned out very pretty. Yogi is a cutie! I finished sewing my strips together for my Counting By Fives quilt I'm making. Thanks for the Moda recipe!

  4. Polly, the chartreuse perfectly sets off those colors. What a fun quilt! Glad Yogi approves. {grin}

  5. Polly, I love your new quilt! Today I took a friend to 2 quilt shops! She has always wanted to quilt, and I've just started (always wanted to, also). We've been papercraft buddies (and enablers) for years, so I introduced her to the world of quilt shops. She went home with fabric for 3 quilts & then some more fabric! LOL!

I love that you are Aunt Polly. I was an aunt at 15, long before I was a mom (at 31). My niece set me up on Facebook, so I am forever Aunt Lori on there!

  6. What a wonderful quilting day. Love your quilt and Yogi looks so cute in it. Perfect photo for a calendar..and I hope you'll enter it in the Pets in Quilts Show this summer. Just delightful.

  7. Didn't have a lot of time today, but I did get my "Just one star" done for the Moda "Just one star" challenge. Going to get it in the mail on Monday!
Your four squared quilt is wonderful!

  8. You're lucky to have such a wonderful model, Yogi is so adorable. The quilts are beautiful, love the chartreuse, it couldn't be more perfect.

  9. Love the chartreuse with the prints - and Yogi! Can't wait to see what you are doing with that beautiful stack of fabrics - looks like it's going to be a fun quilt!

  10. Yogi is such a doll !! Man, he soaks up that sunshine, doesn't he? LOL You share the best pics of him, Polly.

The chartreuse is so gorgeous with your blocks !

And - ooh - we get to see a new project soon...hmmmm....this will be fun.

  11. Oh Polly...the chartreuse really makes this quilt pop! Great choice! Can't wait to see your new Moda project!

  12. Fresh air really makes the animals tired. My cats are just exhausted after a little time in an open window! Love the new quilt, the chartreuse is the perfect color.

  13. I don't know which is sweeter - that chartruese quilt or Yogi. Can't wait to see what you do with that new Sanae line -- I think it is soooo pretty. Happy stitching!

  14. Really love the colour choices! The chartreuse (the yellow-y colour, right?) is so fun and energetic and totally right!!! Well done!

But, I especially loved the pictures of Yogi's sweet face - what a cutie patootie!

  17. Isn't it wonderful to open the windows in the spring? Yogi definately likes it. He sure looks a lot like my Sadie with his longer hair. She is need of a spa day too. On Saturday I worked on my Counting By Fives quilt. I used a Moda Glace honey bun that I had. I like it a lot. Can't wait to see your next Moda recipe.
